Short Essay about my self

My name Rahayuningtyas, students of Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (FKM UI) Department of Health Informatics force in 2006. I just finished my thesis and conduct the thesis exam in late May 2010. Since the beginning I was a student in 2006, I was very interested in social activities on campus. In the second year, I joined the Student Executive Body (BEM) came in the field of "Advocacy and Student Welfare." For some reason I was drawn into the field that helps students who have financial limitations, and come from underprivileged families. In my opinion, there is a certain satisfaction when it can help to advocate the rights of my friends to be able to keep learning in the classroom despite their financial limitations. During the roughly two years I wrestle this field, helping my friends who were mostly from nearby villages.
In the third year I tried to enter the realm of a better, which is to become the Experts Staff “Majelis Wali Amanah (MWA)” University of Indonesia elements-year students in 2009 in the field of Public Policy Studies. I tried this field because they are structurally MWA (consisting of representatives from campus stakeholders like the government (Minister of Education Representative), faculty, employees, professors, students and even community to a position higher than the chancellor. All policies to be issued by the president to go through before finally MWA made decree. I think, by influencing policy to be issued by the rector, will more easily help your friends of students who have financial limitations to still get the ease of service on campus.
In its fourth year, I had to focus on doing research (Public Health Practice) and wrote my final thesis and be forced to break away from routine student organization on campus. However, I feel still need the means to apply the little knowledge I have. Finally I joined the Community Development, which conducted the Women Speaking Spanish Association (SSWA), Spanish women's organizations who are domiciled in Indonesia. This SSWA mission is to improve environmental conditions and education in Indonesia, especially the women. Duren Sawit SSWA chose as the most appropriate area to be repaired. Duren Sawit, East Jakarta who was in a somewhat rundown area with limited household sanitation facilities. Community development SSWA, I joined as a volunteer who provides counseling about primary and secondary health care for mothers and children in Duren Sawit. In addition, I also provide counseling about nutrition for mothers to enable them to provide nutritious meals to children with affordable materials. We also do Community Kitchen of supplementary food programs for children, where food was prepared by their mothers in turn. During this period, we also measured the nutrition of the child so the child can be known nutritional development. But even this SSWA programs should I remove because of my status was not a student anymore.
Currently, I have tried other ways to apply the knowledge I have. Trying to join with the friends who form the majority of the alumni of the University of Indonesia Semi-Autonomous Institutions, which we named "Rombong Belajar Ya Basta." LSO has a goal to develop a community that begins with literacy education and increase access to informal education for children, which formed as a public library that we made in the steamer, Depok. This program just started our design since I was in college but can only be started end of May 2010 we have realized. I hope that is inspired from the LSO in Jogja's Mabulir Faruk Dauzan This can be a means of improving the quality of Indonesian society.
So routine that I do from the college today. Actually I was interested in beginning this routine because of various limitations that I have had for this. I come from a simple family who lack the ability to provide a more informal education to children so that the education I can only patch the existing formal education in state schools. After entering the class, I felt there was something wrong with this educational system, especially in the system of recruiting new students. Many of Them are intelligent but Can not be forced to continue to pursue higher education due to funding problems. I really want to help develop the potential Indonesian Society to be Able to more open-minded, especially in education.
